Writing children's picture books as Lyra Lafon for readers 2 to 9, and guided journals and fiction as Gina Glass for the grown-ups raising them, every page points back to one truth: love, faith, and family can conquer any obstacle.
The family is under attack today. Marriages are breaking, children are struggling in school, and too many parents feel overwhelmed just trying to keep up. I believe there's a way to push back against everything working to erode us, and it starts with the family, the smallest unit with the power to change the world when it's rooted in the love of God.
That belief is why I write. As Lyra Lafon, I create picture books that connect families, especially fathers of color, with their children, celebrating the bonds that uplift a home and, in turn, a whole community. As Gina Glass, I write guided journals and stories for the grown-ups doing the hard, holy work of raising the next generation. Whether you're reading my books with a child on your lap or reflecting quietly with a journal in hand, my hope is the same: that you'll feel closer to God and to the people you love, ready to conquer any obstacle in front of you, and inspired to bring that same light to someone else.
